When Should I Start the HCG Diet?

This question is probably one of the most popular questions we receive about the HCG drops diet. There are not many stipulations to start the HCG diet. For women it is recommended starting the diet ten days prior to or immediately after their menstrual cycle, this gives a more accurate starting weight to go off of. Weight tends to fluctuate a lot around the menstrual cycle and a lot of women tend to not lose any weight during their cycle.

A Few Things to Consider Before Starting the HCG Diet

Time, you need to make sure you have plenty of it to complete the diet without interruption. It’s recommended that your schedule be clear of Holiday’s, Birthday’s or any events that would cause you to be tempted to cheat. When doing the HCG diet, it is a minimum of twenty-three consecutive days of taking the HCG, following the diet plan, with no interruptions.  In doing so this is what helps to reset the hypothalamus glad. The hypothalamus is what controls appetite and metabolism, by doing the HCG protocol you are essentially helping to retrain your body to eat.

Once you have completed the minimum twenty-three to forty-five days of taking the HCG you will go into the next phase of the diet, Maintenance. Maintenance is a minimum six weeks long; the first three weeks are no sugars and starches while adding in new proteins, fruits and vegetables.  The second three weeks are slowly adding in the sugars and starches back in your diet.

Having Success on the HCG Diet

Being successful means setting aside time for you to focus on the diet. At minimum the diet is just a little over 9 weeks long from start to finish and may be longer for multiple rounds. Taking the time to complete the diet with no interruption will help assure long term successful weight loss, inspire healthier choices, and lead to better eating habits.
