Carbohydrates and starches are ½ a cup cooked. This will include things like oatmeal, pasta and rice. Bread items should only be about the size of your palm, ½ to 1 slice of bread is a serving. Getting familiar with a food chart, just as we studied as children is advised. It is never too late to change your habits and pass them down for a healthier future!
