Sauces and dressings on the HCG diet
Sauces and dressings are a great way to help spice up your diet. The HCG diet doesn’t have to be boring or monotonous. Here are a couple of recipes to help you through the diet:
Apple Cider Vinegar Dressing
(This is great on a bed of lettuce served with chicken or fish)
2/3 c. water
1/3 c. apple cider vinegar
Stevia drops to taste (if you like it more tangy, add less)
Salt & pepper to taste
**Mix water and apple cider vinegar together. Add Stevia, salt and pepper, mix well. Pour over salad and refrigerate the leftovers.
Indian Curry Sauce
1 TBSP turmeric
1 TBSP coriander
2 tsp paprika
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp ginger
½ tsp cloves
½ tsp celery seed
½ tsp cayenne
1 c. water
**Mix all ingredients in a bowl. Marinate chicken or fish in sauce for 1 hour before cooking.
When you add in new flavors, spices and herbs, this will keep your taste buds happy. It’s best to add dried herbs early in the cooking process, and then add fresh herbs towards the end. Dry herbs and spices carry more flavor than fresh. Here is a good way to judge how much to add to your recipe when substituting: ¼ tsp powder = ¾ tsp dried = 2 tsp fresh.
