maintenance

2 Weeks! I made it. It has been quite a while since I last posted and I figured I didn’t need to post every day since I am trying to maintain. I did have a birthday party this past weekend for my niece who turned 2. I made her a castle cake and yes I had a piece but I only had a small piece and figured if I needed to do a steak day from it then so be it. I have been slowly adding things in and I am happy to report I have not needed a steak day since I started maintenance. I notice that if I am gaining (like I have been .5 every day for the past few days) I needed to change my evening snack and watch my calories more. I love going for walks with my son but I have noticed also that when I go for a walk, I have to make sure and eat more calories than my normal day or I loose too much weight. Yesterday was the first day I got close to having a steak day. I reached 1.5 lbs over my LDW so I just had lots of lean meats and less cheese and less fat. I do find myself wanting to get into my old habits of constantly eating in the evening, even if they are small things. I have since changed that, I only allow myself 2 small snacks and I have to have at least 30 min between each of them and I have to have at least 2 hrs till bed. I know I keep saying but, I cannot wait till I can go back to the gym and start working on toning and loosing more weight. I cannot do another round until September so I am going to try to loose as much as I can while toning up at the same time by working out and doing lap swimming.

I also look forward to having more carbs and just the ability to have the occasional fast food or dinner out with family w/o having to worry too much about if I will show too big of a gain. All in all I am pretty pleased and look forward to my “summer of fun” with all the things we have planned. It is a big summer. My son turns 1 in June, I turn 30 in July, we are going to a ghost town celebration that happens every year, a trip to Minnesota for a family wedding and then a trip to Seattle for a music festival. Big, big summer but I am so ready. Just remember, you are your own person and you have to see what works best for you. As long as you pay attention to what you eat, keep a food journal, document your weight and measurements even on maintenance then you can easily find what works, it may be different from the next person but at least you know what your body can and cannot handle. And as always, everyday is a new day.

  1. I also measured myself again since 2 weeks ago and I lost another 2.75 inches all around. It feels good to know I lost inches even tho I have not been loosing weight. Keep it up everyone, it is so worth it.

  2. Wow, congrats! I think I am going to do a roundup post of everyone’s success soon.

  3. Thanks Jesse! I would love to give you my info to do a success story, just let me know. As of today it has been 30 days on lost 28 pounds. After being on maintenance for 2 weeks I have lost a total of 20 inches all around. :D This has been amazing, I recommend it to all as long as they know how hard “mentally” it can be.

  4. may be I am different, because I purchased HCG from one of the doctors ( not a homeopatic one), and it does not do the trick for me. My appetite has not disappeared miracously, although I follow all of the guidelines, and I am not losing a weight. I have to lose only 10 lbs. though.

I agree, it is (at times) mentally hard, but worth it in the end. I have lost 36 pounds so far and will go onto round 2 soon and hope to lose an additional 25-30 more pounds. You need to be creative with what little choices/amounts of food you have to choose from. The key is to have faith in yourself & the diet. If it’s not working for you, your doing something wrong.

Hi Caroline… I am 59 (Did I really say that?!)
You MUST give this a try BUT… You have to follow ALL the guidelines on the diet, including NO Alcohol !! You cannot waiver any of the food items..ONLY eat the food on the diet & drink lots of water. I have had some very difficult days where I was getting tired of the same foods, so you just have to be creative on how you prepare them. I lost 20 lbs in 14 days !!! It was crazy, it just fell of me and is continuing to do so after 53 days!! You must be very ready & committed to lose the weight, otherwise I do not think you will make it..It is a 100% commitment. I have not ever cheated since on the diet & it has payed off BIG TIME !! Good luck.. Keep me informed

Alesha !! How is maintenance going??? Hope ya don’t mind if I am doing daily blogs on your page?!? It is a way for me to voice my ups & my downs to myself & others… I guess it is my weight watcher meeting for the day!!! I am anxious to hear from you, I guess no news is good news?? You hang strong. I have .4 lbs to go and then I can finally say that I have lost 40 lbs !!! I was counting on my journal how many “stall” days I have had since I began the diet, and I was shocked that I have had 21 days of “stalls”, Holy Cow, that’s 3 weeks ( I remember the frustration I had!!) I am a Happy Camper these days !! :)

  14. I am going to be 59 next week and this is my birthday present to myself. Today is day 1 and reading about your success is very inspiring. I would like to lose a totalmof 60 pounds. It used to seem like an impossibility. If you have any additional tips I would appreciate them. I plan on following the diet to the letter.

  15. Pat, what times do you take the drops?

  16. Pat (Day 55) 39.6 # DOWN!!! says:

I set my alarm on my cell phone for the following times:
    8:30 am
    11:30 am
    2:30 pm
    5:30 pm
    7 pm
    9:30 pm
** You can set your own times according to your life schedule,as long as you make sure you get 6 drops 6 times a days.
Best of luck Maureen !! Keep me informed :)

  17. Pat (Day 55) 39.6 # DOWN!!! says:

OK…. Today I stayed the same weight, but that’s OK, cause I have had a loss for the past 1 1/2 weeks (about 7 1/2 lbs)…I guess it is time for the body to “Re-Sculpture” now !!!
Maureen, It sounds like you are very ready to lose the weight, so I think you will do fine, just remember to be creative on how you prepare your food.
    1) Take your chicken or fish and wrap tightly in foil & put in a streamer… add lots of spices (legal ones).
    2) Cook your meats, then add the veggie you want so it is like a nice hot dish to eat.
3)Save your supper fruit for a later evening snack.
    ( I love to pink grapefruit..super sweet & Yummy)
    4) Eat your melba/breadstick very slow, it is the 1 & only crunchy thing you get, so savor the pleasure…..
5)My favorite it a spinach salad with 1/2 cup cut up strawberries with a sprinkle of vinagarette dressing & a breadstick.
*** HOPE THIS AIDES YOU IN YOUR JOURNEY !!!

  18. Hi Pat, I don’t mind at all, I know how much it helps. I am doing good. I decided since I am in maintenance that I would write every few days to once a week. I just posted a new one. I have made it 23 days as of today (friday) and been able to maintain. I have been slowly going back to exercising and I put on a pair of pants that used to fit me but were too tight in the thighs today and they fit and were loose! I am so happy with my results thus far. I am not doing another round until September but I am planning on still watching what I eat, and continuing exercising at least 3 times a week. Congrats on all you have done and just remember, you will never see those pounds again as long as you have made this your lifestyle change, not a “diet”. At least that is how I look at it. Happy weekend and easter!

  19. Pat (Day 56) 39.8 # DOWN!!! says:

    I finally hit 40 lbs !!

  21. Heather says:

    Hey,
I started the diet and am on day 7. I have done this before through the doctor and it worked! Since I could not afford the doctor this time I bought the drops through this company. I am on day seven of the 500 calorie diet and the first 3 days I lost a pound a day but on day four I woke up and I had gained a pound! I’m really upset, and wondering if going through the doctors was better. I did everything correctly. I feel like I have been ripped off from this company!
