THE BENEFITS OF STEVIA ON THE HCG DIET

A major component of the HCG diet is the use Stevia as a sweetener. For centuries, Stevia (a South American herb) has been used as a sweetener.  Additionally, it is a preferred HCG supplement due to it being absolutely calorie free as well as dramatically reducing food cravings for unhealthy fats and those foods containing sugar.

    I have been using new stervia powder packets. I love that it has not bitter aftertaste. I am being told that I cannot use it on this program. Can you clarify that for me?

    If it’s not the “SweetLeaf” brand of Stevia then you shouldn’t use it. The other brand of Stevia (In The Raw) contain fillers which can affect your HCG diet. Only SweetLeaf has no fillers, additives, etc.

    I used the Stevia in the Raw all the way through and still do and i lost 40 lbs on the diet, i alone now have lost 55lbs altogether with Stevia in the Raw by my side. So it doesnt matter really.

    KD, how long did it take you to lose the 40lbs and did you lose it all on the first round(including maintenance) or lost it in over two rounds. I’m currently on my second round and would love some advice. I’m getting discouraged with it all. For some reason the second time around is bad!!!

    I lost it on the first round, i made some mistakes, like when i boiled the chicken tenders and onion i saved the broth like a soup and this put me at a stand still. I have found that chicken 2 tenders boiled with cherry tomatos keeps you right on the diet with four bottles of water a day.Stick to plain protein and small veg and it will work, The two melba seem insignificant but also for some reason they are needed.And make sure you cut all fat off your steak meat. I got small tupperware containers and pre made my food.That way i knew i was getting exact amounts, apple at seven pm for a snack with water.Good luck

    And you ate a piece of chicken tender for lunch and one for dinner? Or two per meal?

    What other healthy snacks did you eat throughout the diet?

    I have a question about stevia. I know it is a great substitute and I have used it forever. I love the sweet leaf English toffee! I’ve been using it in my cappacchinos and lattes and it really does help with cravings and gives me just the treat I need for the day. This is my question. I just recently went back on the HCG program. I want to loose 10 more pounds. Obviously we can’t have dairy on the program, and sorry but the 2 tablespoons a day would not even come close to cutting the bitterness in coffee that I hate. :) . Anyways, I decided on a whim to try black coffee and I used a lot of stevia in it. I loved it!! Again it is my treat that I look forward to in the day, and helps keep me on track. My concern, though, is can u use to much stevia and will it disrupt your weight loss? Mind u, in a McDonald’s medium coffee I use 4 droppers full. The other time I did the diet I used stevia throughout but only used it in my tea and then I only used a couple drops. All I need for tea.

    I guess, what got me thinking was that I had no weight loss this morning, which Is Thursday morning, and I just started this on Monday. Plus a friend of mine was giving me the business how your body breaks all things down like that like it is sugar. That all sweetners are the same, and that if I gave it up I would see a weight loss ( mind u he doesn’t know I’m doing the HCG diet). I think it’s funny cuz I told him years ago that he shouldn’t drink diet pop because from the things I have read, that your body does not recognize fake sweetners so your body will break it down like it is sugar. Ironic, that years later he is giving me the same speech. :) . I said to him that I think it’s different, cuz it is from a plant, it’s natural so your body can recognize it and break it down, unlike all the artificial sweetners. Unfortunately he got my wheels turning because I did not have a weight loss today, and I do use a crap load of it when I have coffee. I probably drink 1 large or 2 mediums a day. So, can using to much stevia be harmful on this diet?

      Hi Karina – Every body is different. There will be days without any weight loss, and this can be due to not enough water intake, too much salt in a day, etc. If you continue to stall with your loss, you can try using less stevia to see if that is the culprit.
