HCG Diet Very Low Calorie Diet (VLCD) Facts

The HCG diet requires what’s called a very low calorie diet (VLCD). A lot of people are apprehensive about being on a low calorie diet. By following the HCG guidelines, it is nothing to be afraid of.  With the HCG protocol, your body doesn’t survive on strictly 500 calories. The HCG forces your body to unlock the abnormal fat stored in the mid-section (hips, belly, bottom and thighs) as well as the upper arms. Once done, your body consumes between 1500 and 4000 calories from the stores being released into your body IN ADDITION TO the 500 calories that are being eaten.

What does the HCG diet VLCD include?

A lot of people are concerned that they will not enjoy the foods on VLCD while on the HCG diet. The diet has over 13 vegetable choices, 4 fruit choices, and 6 protein choices. For example, there are apples, oranges, chicken, fish, lettuce, tomatoes, and onions.  It is also important during VLCD to drink plenty of liquids that include water, coffee, and tea while on HCG.

What happens after the HCG VLCD?

Owner Jaime Edmund stated, “After the VLCD phase, you will find your appetite has decreased, your eating behavior will be dramatically altered and your body will, of course, have changed. This is the perfect opportunity to permanently adopt that healthy lifestyle to maintain your weight.  With the hypothalamus gland reset, your metabolism will be different and you will be able to eat moderately without feeling the overwhelming need to overeat that you might be accustomed to.  For people who have tried this HCG diet program, 75% – 90% have had hardly any or no difficulty maintaining their new, ideal weight.”

Once you have reached your desire weight, or have finished a minimum of 23 days on VLCD you are then moving onto the maintenance phase of the HCG diet. This phase is important to ensure you are maintaining your weight loss from the HCG VLCD phase.  The HCG VLCD is a very important part of the HCG diet.

  9. Hi,
I’m on day 4 and have a slight headache, but all is going well.

  10. There is a shopping list located on the Your HCG member’s only site. If you purchased from Your HCG, you can log in at http://www.yourhcg.com/members. It’s on the right hand side.

  11. I am completing the 30 day HCG and I have lost 15 pounds so far which is all fat that came off, I still have one more week to go and I am aiming for 5 more pounds. This is an easy way to loose weight but I recommending hitting the gym after you get off from HCG to shape your body and to maintain your body weight. Great Stuff!

  12. The HCG diet is a great way to give yourself the boost you may need to lose that extra weight. It’s also great for obese people as well that may not be able to get out and about at the gym. We do recommend continuing a healthy diet along with physical activity after you are done with the drops to ensure long term permanent weight loss. While on maintenance, make sure you maintain your weight within 2lbs of your last dose weight. If more weight needs to be lost after the HCG diet, you can continue to lose once you have completed maintenance. Great job on your loss so far, Timea! :)
